I'm asked many times "What can I do to help" and also told many times I really don't trust most charities. Here is what you can do to help. You can become a neighbor use your time and talent for your neighborhood. Here below I have included the definitions of whom and what built our great nation.

neigh·bor (n³"b…r) n. 1. One who lives near or next to another. 2. A person, place, or thing adjacent to or located near another. 3. A fellow human being. 4. Used as a form of familiar address. --neigh·bor v. neigh·bored, neigh·bor·ing, neigh·bors. --tr. 1. To lie close to or border directly on. --intr. 1. To live or be situated close by. --neigh·bor adj. Situated or living near another.

neigh·bor·hood (n³"b…r-h‹d") n. 1. A district or an area with distinctive characteristics. 2. The people who live near one another or in a particular district or area. 3. The surrounding area; vicinity. 4. Informal. Approximate amount or range. 5. Friendliness appropriate to a neighbor. 6. Mathematics. The set of points surrounding a specified point, each of which is within a certain, usually small distance from the specified point. --attributive. Often used to modify another noun.

The Step Up For Soldiers Fund remains no salary & no employees, just professional volunteer labor and donated or discounted building material.

Once again Step Up For Soldiers enters into our fundraising season in Eastern North Carolina. I'm reminded of the Johnny Cash song "I've Been Everywhere ". We have been lucky to have been invited to display our traveling Fallen Soldier Memorial at all kinds of events. Still in the planning for next years event 2009. We will hold our fiurth Annual Children Fun and Fishing Weekend. This will now take place for the whole weekend. Now calling this event Wilmington Weekend. Friday Saturday and Sunday, Weekend full of fun taking place all around Wilmington. We will post contact information for pre registration, once we have all the dates and information. Will make signing in FAST and EASY. Please set this date aside as soon as possible.
